We all love Katy Perry, don’t we?

Just heard that last week, the newest pop diva Queen of Pop, Katy Perry, becomes the first woman EVER in the 53-year Billboard Hot 100 history to have placed 5 songs from a single album to the top of the charts!  California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Fireword, ET, and now, Last Friday Night (TGIF).  This girl is really on top of the world right now.  To add to that, she has also been recently married to Russell Brand.

Ofcourse, the King of Pop Michael Jackson was the first to achieve this record from his album Bad in the late 1980s with the songs Bad, I Just Cant Stop Loving You, The Way You Make Me Feel, Man in the Mirror, and Dirty Diana

The main difference though is that MJ was able to reach this record over 9.5 months, while it took KP over a year and 2 months to do the same.  However, even if MJ reached it faster, his songs stayed at #1 for a 7 weeks cumulatively vs KP’s 18 weeks.

Hoorah for Katy Perry!

  1. Yes, we all love her! What’s not to love about her anyway?
